The Köln 99ers welcome Frank de Jong, another Dutch national player, to their ranks.
During the so-called „World Cup break“, the 99ers‘ officials have been able to further strengthen the squad by signing Frank de Jong.
Frank de Jong took part in a tryout with the Cathedral City team for the first time in 2010, and since then, those in charge have been in constant contact with the tall 1.0 point player. In recent days, the contact between Frank de Jong and Cologne’s team manager Sedat Özbicerler intensified. The short training camp of the 99ers with two test games against RSV Lahn-Dill, which was scheduled for last weekend, fit very well into the respective decision-making process. Both sides drew a positive conclusion after the training sessions and the two games, so that it was then quickly agreed.
The experienced Dutchman has already passed through several international stations in his sporting career and is also not an unknown face in the RBBL. With his style of play he brings new line-up options to the 99ers. Cologne fans can look forward to a strong player who is expected to make his first appearance this Saturday in the home game against Wiesbaden.
We are happy about the commitment of Frank de Jong and welcome him in Cologne.
